Health center opens in Niles
As nearly 17,000 Cass and Berrien County residents become eligible for affordable health insurance or Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, Cassopolis Family Clinic Network (CFCN) is expanding to help meet the demand for primary care services.
CFCN was awarded a Health Resources and Services Administration New Access Point Grant in October 2013, bringing $650,000 in federal dollars annually to help support care to medically underserved patients in Southeast Berrien County.
The Niles Community Health Center is now open and accepting new patients at 24 North St. Joseph Avenue, Suite G, Niles, located across the street from Niles Community Hospital. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cassopolis Family Clinic Network operates as a federally funded Community Health Center whose mission is to provide access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for the residents of Cass and Southeast Berrien Counties. Medicaid and most insurance plans are welcome. Uninsured patients may apply for reduced fees under a sliding fee discount program. Nominal fees are based on gross income and household size. CFCN is a certified agency able to assist with health insurance and Medicaid enrollment under the Affordable Care Act.
