Cassopolis Public Schools will be asking voters to approve the renewal of 18 mills for its operating budget at Tuesday’s election.

This renewal is for non-homstead property and is for a five-year period (2014-18).

The renewal of the 18 mills would bring the district approximately $3 million for its operating costs over that five-year period.

The district placed the renewal on the May ballot in an attempt to separate it from the numerous ballot proposals that usually accompany a fall election.

There are seven precincts that voters may use Tuesday. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
