Michael F. Gleason, 63 of Battle Creek, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Battle Creek Health System.

He was born Sep. 19, 1946 in Benton Harbor, the son of Barney and Claire (Friesel) Gleason.

Following his graduation from Niles High School, Mike joined the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Bearcat while in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart. Mike loved Notre Dame Football, trains and classic Fords.

He was currently employed at Pfizer.

On May 19, 1986 he was married to Sonja M. (Schuster), who survives. Also surviving are two children: Michael “Tony” Gleason and Sara Gleason both of Battle Creek; mother, Claire Gleason of Niles; sister, Patricia (Ronald) Wojan and their children: Kate and Michael Wojan of Beaver Island; and his aunt, Mrs. Adeline Lowe and family of Cassopolis.

Mike was preceded in death by his father. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
