Martin Lee Buchhorn

Martin Lee Buchhorn

ST. JOSEPH – Martin Lee Buchhorn was born on Sept 28, 1961 in Watervliet, the first-born grandson of Vence and Ruby Majors, and left the binds of this earth on Sept 3, 2010, doing what he loved -riding his motorcycle.

His family will greet friends at Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home , 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A celebration of Martins life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. at Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 31994 Middle Crossing Road, Dowagiac.

Memorials may be made in memory of Martin to the church.

Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Martin graduated from Watervliet High School in 1980 and was employed by Hanson Mold in St. Joseph as a Wire EDM operator.

He was a loving and much loved father, son, brother and uncle.

There was never a dull moment when Martin was in the house and his sisters and brother were his best friends.

His father, Dieter Buchhorn, was his hero and he was overwhelmed with grief with his passing.

We are comforted to know that they are once more together.

Martin is survived by: his stepdaughter, Jessica Callender of Grand Rapids; stepson, Kyle Callender of St. Joseph; mother, Doris (Bill) Hauch of Eau Claire; brother, Frank (Kelley) Buchhorn of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Conni Clark of Blue Island Ill., Stacy Thornton of St. Joseph and Beth (Victor) Wells of Hartford; nephews, Christopher, Bradley, Trenton and Jacob; and nieces, Ashley, Lauren, Amanda, Sasha and Ashton; and delighted in having a great-nephew, Alexander, and our newest addition, Baby Mak.

In addition, a host of family and close friends.

He will be greatly missed by many. But we will miss his great sense of humor most.
