Linda Kay Himes, 69, of Elkhart and formerly of Edwardsburg, passed away on April 20, 2016, at Woodland Manor in Elkhart after an illness.

Linda Kay Himes, 69, of Elkhart

She was born the daughter of Levi C. Jr. and Alberta I. (VanDusen) Himes in Mishawaka. She had worked for Georgia Boy and Robinson Wood Products both in Edwardsburg and lastly at Ascot Enterprises in Elkhart. She was a diligent and hard worker. She loved her life, especially her children and grandchildren.

In 2007 she lost her “life partner” George Nelson.

Her family who survive her are her two sons, Johnny Linn (Gail) Hart of Tecumseh, Michigan and Tim Scott (Kathleen) Hart of Elkhart.

She has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy J. (Larry) Williams and Barbara Himes. Family who have passed are her parents, her “life partner” George Nelson and a great-grandchild.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, May 1, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg.

The Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. with Mr. Lloyd Montgomery of Cassopolis, officiating.
Cremation has taken place and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365, P.O. Box 47, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0047.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
