Free seminar to discuss end-of-life wishes

Hospice at Home, a Lakeland Health Affiliate, will host a free seminar intended to provide community members with the information and tools to talk about their healthcare wishes with their family members, friends, and healthcare providers. The presentation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Ln., St. Joseph.

“’Quality of life’ means something different to each of us, based on our own beliefs and values,” said Melinda Graham, chief executive officer, Hospice at Home. “It’s never too early to start having these conversations with our loved ones, and to provide each other with the peace of mind that comes with being able to make informed decisions in tough times.”

Attendees will learn about advance directives, living wills, healthcare power of attorneys, and patient advocates in Michigan. Presenters will offer assistance with putting end-of-life wishes into writing on a form that meets State of Michigan requirements.

Pre-registration is required. To reserve your space, call (269) 429-7100.
