Berrien Springs sweeps Brandywine

NILES — Host Brandywine was swept by Berrien Springs in its Lakeland Conference meet Wednesday.

The Shamrocks defeated the Bobcats 88-42 in boys track and 111-17 in girls track.

Brandywine had just three first-place finishes in the boy’s portion of the meet.

Kaden Santana won the high jump with a height of 5-3, while Kevin Roberts won the pole vault with a jump of 12-feet. Roberts also won the long jump with a distance of 19-10.5.

The Bobcats had four first-place efforts in the girl’s portion of the meet.

Miley Young won the 800-meters with a time of 2:38.19. Lily Gill won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 51.42, while Ireland Prenkert won the pole vault with a height of 7-6.

The Bobcats’ 800-meter relay team of Mackenna Price, Allison Fedore, Gill and Karleigh Byrd posted a winning time of 1:55.67.
