Amazingly, no one was injured in a two-vehicle accident that resulted in a truck being flipped upside down Thursday night at the intersection of Fifth Street and Sycamore Street in Niles.

According to Niles Police, Deshawn Maurice Clark, 24, of Niles, was traveling west on Sycamore Street, but did not stop for a flashing red light at the intersection of Fifth and Sycamore at 10:04 p.m. At that time, a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro heading north on Fifth Street hit Clark’s truck, causing the truck to flip onto its top.

Clark was not injured.

The driver of the Camaro, Austin Lee-James Ford, 17, of Dowagiac, was not injured.

Police determined Ford had the right of way and Clark was issued a traffic citation.

Alcohol was not a factor.
