Chester Lawrence Crimmins, 88

Chester Lawrence Crimmins, 88, of Clearwater Fla. passed peacefully Thursday June 6, 2013.

He was born Aug.19, 1924 in Morley, Mich., the son of Chester L Crimmins, Sr. and Catherine (Scott) Crimmins. Chester proudly served in the US Army during WW II. He was employed as a banker (Howard City, Mich.; Cassopolis  and Holiday, Fla.).

Chet was a people person and always enjoyed having a group of friends around sharing stories and a little libation, discussing and solving  the issues of the day. We will miss his sense of humor, zest for life and his willingness to assist family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Crimmins; a sister, Jacque Beery;  brothers in-law,  John Bottum and Gary Beery.

Chester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris D (Diedrich) Crimmins; daughter, Barbara Crimmins; son, Michael Crimmins (wife, Patricia);  grandson, Brian Crimmins;  granddaughter, Krista Crimmins; brother, Gordon Crimmins (wife Patience);  sister, Kathleen Bottum;  brother in-law, William Diedrich (wife Norma);  sister in-law, Priscilla Crimmins; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service to be held at noon Aug. 17 at the VFW Hall in Howard City (1001 S. Ensley St.).  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Chet’s memory  to:  National Federation of the Blind (NFB), 200 E. Wells St. at Jernigan Place, Baltimore MD 21230; or on line at www.nfb.org.
