Buchanan library plans ‘GirlZ Night Out’

• GirZ Night Out: 6 to 7 p.m. today for kindergarten through fourth -grade girls with an adult female guardian. Games, treats, contests and fun. Get a ticket at the library or at Ottawa or Moccasin schools.

• Adult crafts — March 8, make a hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds will be here before too long so make a feeder to welcome them back. Participants will be making a small feeder from a recycled jar to hang in a garden. Registration is required.  Classes are from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sign up at the front desk – limited space.

• Story time —10:30 a.m. Sunday the library will have a special story. March 7 is Dr. Seuss Day; the 14th will be hats off to St. Pat’s; the 21st Frieda the Frog returns; and on the 28th is a special story. To read to the children, contact Miss Sarah at the library.

• Jack Knight Cafe —Sign-up is required and space is limited to 10 students. JKC will return March 4 for a boys only day. Only fifth- through eighth-grade students allowed.

• Computer assistance — Have a question about the computer? The library has an answer. No sign up necessary. Come to the library during the following times and Meg or Pamela will help: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

• Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Bash — 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 2, for kindergarten through fourth-graders. Craft and cake.

• BoyZ Night Out —6 to 7 p.m. March 15 for kindergarten through fourth-grade boys and their adult male guardians. The library will close at 4 p.m. these days to set up for the events. Look for more details on sign-up in March.  To volunteer, call Miss Sarah at 695-3681.

• Senior Day at the Library is April 14.

•Lest We Forget Display — This unforgettable display will be at the library in May. Come see the statue of Kelly, a Vietnam War dog; a World War II soldier named Hector; a collage from the Korean War, along with many other eye catching displays.
