The second annual Cassopolis Fall Fest promises to be bigger and better than the inaugural event.

Fall Fest will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 pm. in and around downtown Cassopolis Saturday.

“We have added more events,” said Monica Kennedy, event coordinator. “We have a wider variety of vendors and we have some great food vendors including the Pretzel Wagon from the Cass County Fair. So we are excited about that.”

Before the festival even gets under way, visitors can visit the VFW for a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m.

There will be plenty of fun things to do during the event, including a tour of the nostalgic Sinclair gas station and Holden Green Tavern.

For those over 21, the Full Bull Tavern is having a beer tent as well as hosting a pool tournament.

Youngsters can enjoy a ride on Arden Wither’s “Choo Choo,” as well as take part in a big wheel race. There will also be hayrides for children and adults alike.

“We have expanded on the kids area that is going to be a completely separate area,” Kennedy said. “We are going to have games with prizes, a bounce house and ambulance and fire truck tours.”

Guests can even get a pink hair extension to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds from the extensions will be donated to the Cass County Cancer Service.

Directly behind the Cassopolis Municipal Building in the parking lot, vendors will display their wares for purchase, including candles, lunch items, jewelry, Scentsy, Pink Zebra, bake sales and more.

New to the Cassopolis Fall Fest is an art exhibition, which will include fine art as well as craft items such as wreaths, furniture and chalk art. Items will be available for purchase during the exhibition.

Other activities include:

• Open microphone/

music

• Kids games

• High school helper

auction

• Pie making contest

• Pumpkin carving/

decorating contest

• Prizes and giveaways

Kennedy said that between 250 and 300 people attended last year’s event.

“We are really hoping for more this year given that we have expanded so much,” she said.
