BUCHANAN — The Buchanan Bucks are Lakeland champs once again.

The volleyball team won its fifth straight Lakeland Conference title after finishing the final conference event 2-1 on Saturday. The Bucks secured wins against Brandywine (25-21, 25-21) and fell to Dowagiac (17-25, 21-25) before rebounding to defeat Berrien Springs (25-23, 25-13) to earn the title.

Sydney Denison and Gabby Carson led the team with 19 kills each, while Kenzie Boller contributed 10 kills. Morgan Weldy directed the offense with 62 assists.

On defense, Finley Kehoe led the team with 24 digs, Ella Fanslow had 17 digs and Emily Holt added 14 digs. Denison, Kehoe, Legault, Weldy, and Fanslow all contributed to the serving game, with Denison and Kehoe each recording three aces.
