EDWARDSBURG— The Edwardsburg football team secured a 27-0 homecoming victory over Three Rivers on Friday. The defense dominated while the offense relied on a steady Eddies ground game.

The scoring began in the first quarter when Cameron Hayden found the end zone. Despite being initially bottled up by the Three Rivers defense, Hayden spun out of traffic for a 30-yard touchdown run, putting the Eddies up 7-0 with 4:48 left in the first quarter. Just before halftime, Cale Myers capped off a drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, a possession that included several of big Myers runs to keep the clock moving.

In the third quarter, Giovanni Orue broke free for a 38-yard touchdown run after a strong burst through the line. The Eddies’ lead grew to 21-0 with 5:23 left in the third. Jesten Gregory scored the final points of the game on a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The score of 27-0 with 7:49 left in the game reflected the Eddies’ continued control over the clock.
