Brandywine boys tennis beats Edwardsburg 6-2

EDWARDSBURG — The Brandywine boys tennis team defeated Edwardsburg 6-2 on Monday.

The Bobcats took three of the four flights. Ryder Richard won a tough three-set match at No. 1 singles against Adam Redden (6-4, 2-6, 10-4). Kyler Marshall defeated Ethan Layman at No. 3 singles (6-4, 7-6 (8)), and Malachi Gamble won against Bryce Linton at No. 4 singles (6-4, 7-5). Edwardsburg’s lone singles victory came at No. 2, where Logan Summy defeated Blake Magyar (6-1, 6-0).

In doubles play, Brandywine took three flights. The No. 2 team of Bryce Hood and Hudson Aalfs won 6-0, 6-0 against Kade Hoven and Xander Souchick. Jordan Bryant and Nolan Shaffer won at No. 3 doubles (6-1, 7-5), and Lincoln Babcock and Cam Marazita defeated Braden Farmer and Lincoln Freudenburg at No. 4 doubles (6-3, 6-2).

Edwardsburg’s No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Van Overberghe and Keston Mcguire defeated Brady Bosch and Maddox Carpenter 6-4, 6-2.
