Anderson’s five touchdowns pace Niles in 57-27 win over Otsego

NILES — Alex Anderson had a game to remember.

The Niles senior totaled 290 yards and five touchdowns on just 11 carries as the Vikings ran away from Otsego 57-27 Friday night.

Nursing a 22-20 lead at halftime, the Vikings responded by outsourcing Otsego 45-7 in the second half.  The Vikings’ offense outgained Otsego 492-389, including 481-86 edge in rushing yards.

Anderson scored on plays of 17, 2 59, 33 and 16 yards. Elijah Norris had 100 rushing yards and one touchdown on 18 and Brandon Walsh added 61 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. carries while Dillon Pearman also scored on a 10-yard run.

On defense, Jayelin Vawter had seven total tackles and Sheldon Cornelius had seven total tackles and one sack. Ward Cheney recorded three tackles and one sack.’

Otsego quarterback Kaleb Hildebrand completed 9 of 15 passes for 302 yards and touchdown passes of 83, 24 and 87 yards.

Niles (4-0, 2-0) faces Sturgis at 7 p.m. Friday at Sturgis.
