Niles beats Paw Paw 30-14 in Wolverine Conference opener

PAW PAW — The Niles football team remains among the undefeated.

The Vikings ground out a 30-14 road win over Paw Paw in the Wolverine Conference opener. Niles led 8-6 at halftime.
The Red Wolves outgained the Vikings 281-244 in total yards and Niles edged Paw Paw 244-237 in rushing yards. Leading the way for Niles was Alex Anderson, who tallied seven carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns – a 69-yard run and a 37-yard run. He also added a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown. Brandon Walsh also scored a touchdown on a 3-yard run.
On the defensive side, senior Brenden Olsen finished with nine total tackles and 3 interceptions and Bryce Zache had seven tackles and Alex Anderson eight.
Niles (3-0) will host Otsego at 7 p.m. Friday.
