STURGIS — The Edwardsburg varsity girls’ volleyball team opened the Wolverine Conference portion of its season Thursday with a three-set sweep of host Sturgis 25-19, 25-18, 25-18. 

The win pushes Sarah Strefling’s Lady Eddies to 11-2 overall and 1-0 in the Wolverine.

Sarah Pippin had 23 kills, three digs, one block and one ace for Edwardsburg. Ella Laskowski added 11 kills, 10 digs, one block and one ace. Mya Ebertstein totaled eight kills, two digs, three blocks and a pair of aces. Rylie Rosenkrantz finished with 39 assists, eight digs and two aces. Sophia Kuntz contributed 17 digs, one ace and seven assists. Shelby Laubach added two kills and one block and Arden Sponsky had four digs. 

Edwardsburg was also victorious over Sturgis in the junior varsity and freshmen matches.
