Dowagiac, Cassopolis girls golf place 1-2 at jamboree

BENTON HARBOR — The Dowagiac girls golf team earned a first place finish at the first SAC Lakeshore Division jamboree hosted by Michigan Lutheran at Blossom Trails, with Cassopolis finishing a close second.

Dowagiac had three golfers finish in the top 10. Jaden Kusch was the medalist for the day, shooting a 47. Bree Behnke tied for second place with a 48. Kendall Kroepel finished tenth with a 55. The team’s scoring was rounded out by freshman Charlotte Maxey, who shot a 59 to finish 15th overall.
Cassopolis also had three top 10 finnishers: Ava Wagoner tied for second place with 48, Alessa Blanchard tied for sixth with a 53 and Olivia Hayden fired a 54 to place ninth. Aleah Dahlgren placed 11th overall with a 56.
