PENN TOWNSHIP — A Goshen woman was injured Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle Penn Township crash, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Shattuck Road, south of Quaker Street in Penn Township.
The investigation showed that Goshen, Ind. resident Alisha Kindy, 35, was traveling northbound on Shattuck Road. Kindy lost control of the vehicle traveling off the roadway to the right and striking a tree. The vehicle continued to travel back onto the roadway before leaving the roadway to the left and becoming stuck in a field. Kindy was ejected from the vehicle, after it struck the first tree. Kindy was transported by SMCAS Ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash.
Kindy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and Drugs may have been a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting agencies on scene were SMCAS Ambulance, Penn Township Fire Department, and Central Cass Fire Department.
