DOWAGIAC — Hundreds of people of all ages, genders and backgrounds descended on the Dowagiac Library Pavilion Saturday to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at the second annual Cass County Pridefest.
Sponsored by dozens of businesses and organizations including Corewell Health, Four Winds Casino, MonaCo Cleaning Services, Short n’ Sweet Concessions, The Law Offices of Elizabeth McCree, Tower Hill Camp & Retreat Center, Twisted Bee and more, the family-friendly event featured a drag show, a costume contest, the presentation of the OutCenter’s Community Leadership Award to Mayor Donn Lyons, sponsor, non-profit and artisan booths – including La Casa De Maria Cass County Democratic Party, Forever Linked Permanent Jewelry, Chosen Family of Michigan, Ben’s Soft Pretzels and more – activities for children, food trucks, a DJ and live entertainment.
