CASSOPOLIS — The Beach Bash returned to Cassopolis for two days of music, food, and entertainment for all ages on June 6 and 7.
The annual event, hosted by Cassopolis Main Street, began on Friday afternoon with a DJ set by One Man Band Entertainment. Attendees had the option of food from four food trucks featuring barbecue, Mexican, soul food, and hot dogs. Adults had access to a beer garden at Sinclair Station featuring a variety of beverages, including the special Stone Lake Water cocktail. The community was also welcomed to bring feedback and ideas for the 2025 Cassopolis Community Plan. Mishawaka’s Size Matters band closed the live music with covers of popular music, leading into a fireworks show over Stone Lake.
The event continued on Saturday. Additional food trucks joined the party and Broadway Street was closed to host an all day vendors market with over 40 local artisans. Kids were greeted with a special zone featuring face painting, crafts, a petting zoo, and other activities. One Man Band Entertainment returned to provide music throughout the day, leading into an evening live music performance by Blammo. A lighted drone by Starlight Aerial Productions show filled the night sky to close the event.
Elsewhere in Cassopolis, the Cass District Library was also kicking off the summer with the Super Fun Color Run, a run and walk around the track at the Cass County Council on Aging to celebrate the Summer Reading Program. Runners and walkers were covered by tossed colored powder at multiple stations around the track and could take part in a special fitness program after the race. Great Start Cass also held a Summer Splash event at the Beach Bash, providing free water activities and summer safety information for families.
The Beach Bash is an annual event by Cassopolis Main Street meant to “increase traffic to and awareness of the Cassopolis area”. Information on Cassopolis Main Street and future events can be found at cassopolismainstreet.com.
