Vandalia resident injured in two-vehicle Calvin Township crash

CALVIN TOWNSHIP — A Vandalia resident was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Calvin Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Clint Roach reports that at approximately 1:20 p.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Brownsville Road and Union Road in Calvin Township.
The investigation showed that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Brownsville Road driven by 55-year-old Gary Schlenther, of Niles, attempted to pass another vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Kelly Rodriguez, of Vandalia, who was making a left turn off of Brownsville. Rodriguez was transported by SMCAS Ambulance to Ascension Borges Lee Hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash.
Assisting agencies on scene were SMCAS Ambulance and Penn Township Fire Department.
