CASSOPOLIS — A Cass County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped apprehend a man accused of burglarizing a home Saturday night.

At approximately 10: 43 p.m. Saturday, CCSO deputies arrived in Cassopolis to assist Cassopolis Police Department with a home invasion. Upon deputy’s arrival, the CPD advised that the suspect had fled from the residence prior to deputy’s arrival.

K9 Sitka was then deployed in an attempt to locate the suspect. K9 Sitka located the track for the suspect behind the residence and then located the suspect where he was attempting to hide from law enforcement personnel a short distance from the residence. 

Verbal commands were given and the suspect complied being taken into custody without further incident.
