Jefferson Township EMS millage passes

CASS COUNTY — Jefferson Township voters used their power at the polls to approve a millage request for ambulance services.

According to ballot results from Casscountymi.org, there were 174 voters who supported the millage and 71 who voted no. The millage passed by 103 votes for a 71 percent approval rating.

The ballot language asked voters to support an extra-voted ambulance millage of up to .75 mills in Jefferson Township. The millage will be used to continue to provide ambulance and emergency medical services within the township and will be levied for a period of six years, starting in 2025 and ending in 2030. It is estimated that the levy will generate $119,932.31 in the first year.
