BUCHANAN TOWNSHIP — A Buchanan Township home owned by a notable political commentator has hit the market.

David Axelrod, an American political strategist and commentator and the former chief strategist and senior advisor to President Barack Obama, has listed his 53-acre Hills Road estate for $2.3 million.

The property, listed with @Properties in New Buffalo, features 4,200 square feet of space with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Originally built in 1857 as a barn, the home is surrounded by woods, rolling hills and a pond. 

Axelrod, a Senior Political Commentator on CNN, is the founding director of the University of Chicago’s non-partisan Institute of Politics and now serves as a senior fellow at the IOP.
