NILES — After wrapping up his gridiron play at Niles High School, senior Paul Hess has signed a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.

Hess was a standout for the Vikings last season at both running back and linebacker, earning first-team Wolverine Conference honors and Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-Region at linebacker in Division 4.

He tallied 1,222 yards and 14 touchdowns last season to help lead Niles to a program-record 13 wins and a Division 4 State Finals berth. The Vikings won 33 games during Hess’ four years in the program, the most wins in a four-year span in school history.
