Annual Run Like a Blue Streak 5K returns April 26

The second annual Run Like a Blue Streak 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, AApril 26 at Rotary Park in Dowagiac.

Runners will start at the park and then head into the Rudolphi Woods Trails and back to the park. Walkers will enjoy the trails through beautiful Riverside Cemetery.  Kids under 10 are free and can challenge themselves on the Blue Streak Obstacle Course.

Sponsored by the Cass Couty Democratic Party, this event is planned as a “friendraiser” and is open to the public. Naomi Ludman, chair of the local party, announced that Curtis Hertel, the newly-elected Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, will be in attendance to participate in the event and talk with people about how the Michigan Democratic Party plans to support local races here in Cass County and across the state.

The event also includes a BBQ truck and a Sweet Snack bar for those who want to have a picnic lunch or buy a BBQ dinner to take home.

Registration is $40 for runners, which includes a “Run Like a Blue Streak” t-shirt, and $20 for walkers.  Children under 10 are free.  Prizes for 1st Place Male/Female. Registration begins at 10 a.m.  The run begins at 11:00 a.m.
