CASSOPOLIS — One local school will be buzzing with resource opportunities this month.
Cassopolis Adult/Alternative Ed Instructor Jessica Pompey, along with Early Intervention Specialist Breanna Bowsher, are organizing a Community Resource Fair from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Ross Beatty High School.
In collaboration with Helping Hands of Cass County, the Resource Fair will feature representatives from about 25 organizations and agencies. These community partners specialize in assisting low-income families, offer job and legal assistance, provide support programming to seniors, foster and kinship families, veterans, and recommendations on early childhood education.
Among the attendees are Cass District Library, Trio, Veterans Affairs, Dept of Health & Human Services and Council on Aging. Also included will be enrollment specialists from Southwest Michigan College, providing information on programming and financial assistance. Representing the healthcare sector will be Corewell Health, MI Rehabilitation Services, Intercare, Cass Family Clinic and the Pregnancy Helpline Center.
Helping Hands of Cass County will be providing information on food assistance programs as well as referral services for clothing and household items. There are many more organizations that will be in attendance to share information that can assist families in our community.
“This event provides an excellent opportunity to bring our community partners together in one location, allowing families to access the various resources available to them,” Pompey said.
A complimentary light meal will be served at 6 p.m. when the venue opens to the public. There will be door prizes and children may utilize the adjacent gymnasium while parents engage with resource representatives.
