NILES — A new business aims to provide customers with quality, custom items in the heart of downtown Niles.

S & J Customs LLC, 101 E. Main St., opened its doors for the first time Tuesday morning. Owned by Samantha Campbell and Jayden Garza, S & J customs offers a wide variety of custom screen and sublimation printing, sign, accessory services and more from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The business will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday.

“We want to be able to make everybody’s dream come true,” Garza said. “What they can’t get anywhere else or instead of having to pay a big price, they can just come here and get what they need.”

For Campbell and Garza, S & J Customs is a culmination of each of their custom businesses uniting as one. Campbell began selling custom shirts, signs and cups approximately eight years ago and Garza began her custom vinyl and sublimation printing and clothing business approximately six years ago. The two met at an area vendor’s market and soon decided to join forces and open a storefront.

“I really wanted to open a store and she did, too,” Campbell said. “We saw a ‘for rent’ sign here and we got picked out of a handful of people to rent here. We figured out a business plan and set everything up.”

“I had to tell her that we can’t put our dreams to the side, we have to make them come true,” Garza added.

In addition to their items, the business is also featuring products from three local small businesses.

“We’re helping them get their name out there,” Campbell said.

With the new storefront, both Campbell and Garza are excited to interact with customers in-person. While the business is not open on Sundays, Campbell and Garza aim to host DIY activities once per month.

“Working here, we’re able to come here and meet new people, bring crowds in and interact with other people,” Garza said.

The duo is excited to contribute to downtown Niles’ positive momentum.

“It’s been great,” Campbell said. “[The downtown businesses] have all been super welcoming and just as excited as we are to be bringing something different to downtown. Hopefully this fills a gap and we can all come together and see what we can provide for the community.”
