NILES — A Michigan State Police trooper was involved in a traffic crash with another vehicle Tuesday night, according to a MSP news release.

Preliminary investigation shows the trooper, driving a fully marked patrol vehicle and responding to an emergency call, rear-ended a Nissan Rogue traveling north on S. 11th Street in Niles Township. Neither lights nor siren were activated. 

Both the trooper and driver of the Nissan Rogue were wearing seatbelts and reported only minor injuries.  

 The crash remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review once complete.
