Every bingo hall provides a slightly different experience. While many people choose where to play based on who they know at that location on any given night, there is a special category of bingo players who take the game a little more seriously.
You want the best bingo halls in Michigan. But in a state filled with options, how do you choose the one that is right for you?
Fischer Hall, Flint Michigan
Those in Flint Michigan have an excellent option in Fischer Hall. Fischer Hall is open seven days a week, with two daily rounds of play. The first begins at 10:30 each day and includes $2298 in prizes. The ball count for this round of play is 56.
You can come back in the evening for a lower-stakes game, with prize money around $1000. The ball count for the evening game is 53.
Lucky’s Bingo Hall, Genessee, Michigan
Lucky’s is open every day but Monday and features many different games throughout the week. The prize pool hovers around $3000 per day and the ball count for these games is 51.
If you find yourself in or around Genessee, this will be a great option because the potential winnings are generous, and the venue itself is actually quite nice. While the negative connotation surrounding bingo halls is that they are often in disrepair, Lucky’s has recently been remodeled and provides a nice, clean playing environment.
American Legion Post 64 Flint, Michigan
Another option for the good people of Flint. American Legion 64 won’t compete with Fischer Hall on the grounds of comprehensive options. It’s open only on Tuesdays and Sundays, with the Sunday game offering a tiny prize pool of $300.
Still, it’s a good, clean venue with low-stakes play for people who don’t necessarily want to spend big money on their gaming.
Bingo City, Waterford
Bingo City Waterford currently offers only one, low-stakes game on Thursdays at 6:30. The prize pool is just $500 but the venue itself is pleasant. Arrange to go with friends. Grab a few drinks from the bar. Have fun!
Online Play
If you aren’t able to find a good bingo hall in your community, you will find online options at a wide range of virtual casinos. Bingo online does not feature the same social component as your favorite hall, but you’ll never struggle to find a game.
The prize pools are also going to be higher. Many online games will feature a progressive jackpot. This means that the more people play, the higher the earning potential goes.
Where “Bingo City,” might offer just a few hundred dollars per night, online bingo apps could go significantly higher.
What should you look for in a bingo hall?
The honest fact of the matter is that many people will simply need to choose their games based on their proximity to their house. If you noticed anything from our list, it’s that Michigan’s bingo halls are pretty spread out.
It doesn’t matter how excellent the options are in Flint. If you are three hours away, you probably won’t find yourself at Lucky’s anytime soon.
But let’s say that distance isn’t the factor. You have options. You just don’t know how to select among them.
From a strictly strategic point of view, look for games with high prize pools, and lower ball counts. The benefit of a high prize pool is obvious—more money. The lower ball count accelerates the pace of play.
Granted, bingo is also a social experience for many people. If you are less concerned about the winnings and more interested in simply having an enjoyable experience, gravitate toward well-kept venues.
For every bingo hall with peeling tile floors and water-stained ceilings, there are well-kept alternatives.
What are the dining options? Where some bingo halls have a lot of old ladies with eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from home, there are just as many with pretty decent kitchens.
And is there a bar? In Michigan, bingo halls are allowed to serve alcohol—provided, of course, that they have their liquor license. Though not strictly necessary, having the option to unwind with a drink or two while you play can elevate the experience to another level for many people.
Finally, what’s the crowd like? Anyone who plays bingo regularly knows that every hall has its own vibe. Pick one with a culture that you are comfortable with. More than anything else, this will have a major impact on your overall experience.
Play the Field
Your relationship with bingo halls needn’t be monogamous. Put yourself out there. Go to different games. Find the cultural fit.
The options on our list are a great place to start but do a deeper probe of options specific to your community. Michigan is a big state. You’re sure to find more and more options as you research what is out there.
