I wish to express my deep appreciation for the poll workers and election officials who spent untold hours in training, preparation, and real-time commitment for the midterm election, 2022. My interaction with several citizen volunteers was absolutely positive. These dedicated servants of the public were respectful, principled, thorough, scrupulous, collegial, and absolutely nonpartisan. In an era of heightened political tension, shameful misinformation, and reprehensible fear-mongering — we owe a debt to the quiet strength of these civic-minded folks. They are the true patriots of our era.
