NILES — The 40th annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving day run drew nearly 1,700 participants Thursday morning.

Race Bettich, of Stevensville, and Emily Pedzinski, of Niles, were the 5K men’s and women’s champions on a cold and wet Thanksgiving Day.

Nicholas Yanek, of Canton, Georgia, and Emily Meckstrotch, of Chicago, were the 10K overall winners.
