Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Kaylee Thompson is a senior on the Niles track team.

Activities: Cross country and track.

Hobbies: I enjoy watching Netflix and hanging out with my family/friends.

My favorite track memory: My favorite memory is all the team pasta dinners at Coach [Rikki] Jones’ house.

Future plans: I will be attending Grand Valley State University to study diagnostic medical sonography. I will also be participating on the cross country and track teams.

Awards/accomplishments: During my senior year of cross country, I was WSJM’s student athlete of the week. I also qualified for the state championships. During my Junior year of track, I was the SMAC champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs. I also qualified for state in the 1,600.

Advice to underclassmen: Enjoy every day of high school and take lots of pictures to look back on. You never know when a pandemic will come and take it all away.

How have your been making the best of being quarantined? I have been focusing on having solid workouts six days a week to be in the best shape possible for cross country in the fall. I have also been learning to cook delicious meals.
