Kerry Joseph Poehlman, 58, of Dowagiac, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 13, 2020. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.

Kerry was born on Aug. 4, 1961, in Dowagiac, to the late Robert and Mary (Iannerrelli) Poehlman.

He was a 1979 graduate of Dowagiac High School. Kerry worked at Doubleday Office Products in Benton Harbor as a salesman for many years. He coached rocket football and was on the coaching staff for the freshman, JV and varsity football teams with the Dowagiac Schools. Kerry was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan. Kerry is survived by his beloved daughter, Nicole (Scott) Saylor, of Dowagiac; his cherished grandchildren, Halie, Anslie and Evan; brothers, Lee Poehlman, of Plantation, Florida, Kirk Poehlman, of Carmel, Indiana, Michael (Jeannette) Poehlman, of Miami, Florida, and Mark Poehlman, of Schoolcraft; his sister, Lori Enboden, of Niles; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of celebrating Kerry’s life from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 20, at Clark Chapel in Dowagiac. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. to conclude the evening. Those wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at clarkchapel.com.
