Experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate. These are among the qualities that make Shelly Weich the clear choice for Berrien County treasurer.

Shelly is a lifelong resident of Berrien County and this past spring was appointed county treasurer after 10 years as deputy treasurer. This experience is a solid background for anyone pursuing this office but is particularly meaningful today as we deal with the unique challenges of the COVID-19 virus.

During her years in the treasurer’s office, she developed a working knowledge of the county’s operation and how it interfaces with the many local governmental units and agencies. Simply put, she knows how to get things done.

Shelly always maintains a laser focus on her job responsibilities but never loses sight of the fact that the county must also serve its citizens with compassion. She understands the economic challenges faced by many community members. By accessing available programs or developing other creative solutions, Shelly has assisted countless property owners pay past due taxes and remain in their homes and businesses.

I hope you will join me in your support of Shelly Weich by casting your vote for her as the Republican candidate for Berrien County treasurer in the Aug. 4 primary.
