Whitaker wins two more tour events

BENTON HARBOR — Greta Whitaker, of Dowagiac, picked up a pair of victories on the Lakeshore Junior Golf Association Tour last week.
Whitaker, who will play golf at Bethel University this fall, took first place in the Girls 16-18 division at Four Lakes Country Club on July 6, after shooting an 84.
Whitaker bested the rest of the division by 13 shots. Sydney Barnes of South Haven was second with a 96.
At Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor last Thursday, Whitaker shot 94 to win the division. Jayley Zeimet of, Three Rivers, was second with a 98. Dowagiac’s Calley Ruff shot 110.
In the Girls 13-15 Division at Four Lakes, Lily Yoder, Granger, Indiana, was first with a 111, while Dowagiac’s Becca Guernsey was second with a 116.
At Four Lakes, Alan Wegner, of Cassopolis, and Conner Geigley, of Centreville, both shot 85.
In the Collegiate Division, Dowagiac’s Jeremiah Guernsey shot 90 to win by 14 strokes over runner-up Mitchell McConomy, of Stevensville, who shot 104.
In the Boys 16-18 Division, Ryan Guzzo, of St. Joseph, shot 76 to easily win the title. Landon Thompson, of Baroda, was second with an 84. The Boys 13-15 title went to Jacob Marohn, of Stevensville, was the winner with a round of 80. Charlie Uzelac, of St. Joseph, was the runner-up with a 91.
At Harbor Shores, Guernsey and Nick Brausch, of Paw Paw, both shot 92 to top the Collegiate Division. Guzzo won the Boys 16-18 Division with a 73.
