James “Trey” Knight III is a senior on the Niles baseball team.
Activities: Baseball, tennis, National Honor Society and student council.
Hobbies: Supercell games, trampolining, swimming and hanging with my family.
My favorite baseball memory: I hit a walk off double and my entire team tackled me at second base.
Future plans: Pursuing my baseball career at Goshen College while studying to become a pediatric gastroenterologist.
Awards/accomplishments: Two-year captain of varsity tennis, NHS character award.
Advice to underclassmen: Nobody will ever surpass you if you choose to be a leader with the best work ethic in the room — and that’s not an aspect you yourself claims to have — it’s an aspect that even your biggest doubters will notice without being said.
How have you been making the best of being quarantined? I just found a way to get better at every aspect of my life. Whether that was physical or mental, I chose to work as hard as I could to be where I needed to for the next stage of my life.
