I’m writing in support of Jon Hoadley for Congress. We need a representative who will put us — the people of the 6th District — first over special interests.

Jon Hoadley is not taking money from Political Action Committees, unlike Fred Upton who took over $270,000 from PACs in 2019 (End Citizens United, February 4, 2020). We need a Congressman who will look out for us, not someone who votes to give pharmaceutical companies big tax breaks.

Upton voted against the Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019. This bill would have allowed Health and Human Services to negotiate prices for some of the most expensive prescriptions on the market. Upton also voted against H.R. 986, a bill intended to protect people like my sisters, who have pre-existing health conditions.

I support Jon Hoadley because I am concerned about racial justice in our country, especially for my children and grandchildren. I agree with Rep. Hoadley when he says, “It’s time we put people and community back at the center of our decisions. It’s time we face the future and our country’s challenges head-on with fresh ideas.” We need Jon Hoadley as the U.S. Representative for the 6th Congressional District.
