Kimberly Eldridge, 64, of Niles, passed away at her home surrounded in love and light with her family on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

Kimberly was born on Oct. 3, 1955, to Carol Jean (Kolberg) and Gerald House in Buchanan.

Kimberly attended Brandywine High School, where she excelled in track and field, even representing Niles and the State of Michigan in the Can-Amera Games. She had a sassy personality and always made people around her laugh. To that end, she was selected by her peers to be crowned Miss Congeniality in the Miss Apple Festival pageant.

After graduating, Kimberly lived in her hometown and raised a family. She worked for the local school, and then went on to work for the University of Notre Dame. After spending 24 years with Notre Dame, she retired in 2019. She adored her students and was a true Fighting Irish fan from start to end.

Kimberly loved shopping, antiquing, music and road-tripping. She traveled across the country with family, experiencing nature and making incredible memories. Her greatest joys were her two daughters, Mandee and Carly; and her three grandchildren. She had a close circle of friends who she cherished deeply. She was an outgoing spirit who loved life and made friends everywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Daniel House.

Kimberly is survived by her daughters, Mandee Little (Benjamin), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Carly (Micaiah) McNeilus, of Niles; grandchildren, Flynn, River and Marina; brothers, Kevin House (Sue), of Niles, and David House (Lisa), of Three Rivers; and many extended family members and close friends who visited and told stories creating a loving farewell to a sensational and beautiful woman who was loved by so many.

A celebration of life will be coordinated in the near future. Condolences, photos and memories may be left for the family at BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com.
