CASSOPOLIS — A peace rally was held in Cassopolis Saturday afternoon to bring awareness to inequality in the justice system and that Black Live Matter.
The rally began with marchers gathering at Clisbee Park and then marching toward downtown and out to McDonald’s before turning around and finishing up at the Cassopolis Village Police Department.
After organizers and some community members spoke, participants were asked to write their feelings in chalk on the parking lot behind the village hall.
The rally lasted nearly 90 minutes and drew more than 100 people.
