David W. Kiggins, 58, of Niles, passed away in his home on Monday June 8, 2020.

He was born on May 15, 1962, to the late James and Kathryn (Brant) Kiggins, in Niles.

After graduating from Eau Claire High School, he became a certified mechanic for G&G Automotive, in Niles, for 27 years until his early disability retirement due to cancer.

He loved his Nascar racing and he was a die-hard fan of his favorite driver, Ryan Newman. He was a hardworking man with many talents trying to make a living for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Jim” on Jan. 21, 1997, and Kathryn “Kathy” on Feb. 18, 2014; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Kiggins on March 18, 1984, and Steve Kiggins on June 26, 2012.

David is survived by two daughters, Kori Kiggins, Samantha Kiggins, both of Niles; stepson, Gage (Brittany) Unger; ex-wife, Sandra; friend, Linda, both of Dowagiac; adoring granddaughters, Chevelle and Carlene; sister, Barbara (Jeff) Walter, of Niles; nephews, Christopher (Cydni) Kiggins, Chad (Allison) Kiggins, both of Niles; great-nieces and nephew; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and everyone else he would take under his wings.

He had a heart of gold, respected by many.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. by the family on July 25, 2020, at Fraternal Order, of Eagles, 34 Sycamore St., Niles, MI 49120.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
