Ring Lardner boys soccer extends sign-up

NILES — With the uncertainly of high school sports this fall, sign-ups for the Niles Middle School boys soccer team are significantly down, according to coach Brent “Pugsley” Wright.

“Last year at this time, we had more than 45 players,” Wright said. “We have 13 as of [Thursday].”

With the lack of players, the sign-up period has been extended. The new deadline for signing up is June 18.

“We have to let the league know how many teams we will be committing to before the end of June,” Wright said. “At this time, we are looking at starting workouts after July 4.”

Forms are available at Ring Lardner or Eastside’s website. Go to Athletics and Clubs, and click on Soccer Club lin. At the bottom of this page are the links to the forms you will need: soccer registration, concussion, emergency medical authorization.

All contact information is on the forms. Wright said he can work with families on the fees.

Any questions should be directed to Wright coachbwright@comcast.net or by calling his cell phone at (269) 591-5188.
