NILES — If the Greater Niles Baseball/Thomas Stadium is going to have a season in 2020, it must raise funds immediately to make much-needed repairs.

Dakota Jackson, of Greater Niles Baseball/Thomas Stadium has started a GoFundMe page to try and raise $10,000 to make renovations throughout the historic facility.

According to Jackson, Thomas Stadium currently has safety and health concerns due to the need to fix backstop netting, remodel bathrooms, replace the sod on the infield and renovations to the press box.

Jackson, who is the secretary for Greater Niles Baseball and the president of the Thomas Stadium Adult Baseball league, says as a non-profit organization, Greater Niles Baseball/Thomas Stadium does not have the funding to make these renovations itself. Jackson also says that they are unable to receive grants to aid with the repairs.

The Restore Thomas Stadium GoFundMe page has already raised $910. To donate, go to gofundme.com/f/RestoreThomasStadium.
