Senior bios: Dowagiac’s Greta Whitaker

Greta Whitaker is a senior on the Dowagiac softball team.

Activities: My activities in school are playing on the girls golf team, the girls basketball team and the softball team. I am also in National Honor Society.

Hobbies:  My hobbies are playing golf on the weekends and running or biking for some exercise.

My favorite softball memory: My favorite softball memory would have to be my entire junior year because it was my best year and due to COVID-19 it was technically my senior year so I am very happy that I went out doing my best.

Future plans: I plan to attend Bethel University to study criminal justice and play golf for the next four years.

Awards/Accomplishments: Golf: All-Wolverine Conference honorable mention 2017, All-Conference first team 2018 and 2019, tied for medalist at conference tournament 2019, top 10 at Sturgis Invitational 2018 and 2019, state qualifier in 2019, team co-captain 2017 through 2019, team MVP 2019.

Basketball: Team academic all-state for the 2019-2020 season, team captain.

Advice to underclassmen: Just try your best and give it your all because you never know if it will end before it even begins.

How have you been making the best of being quarantined? I have been spending a lot of time with my family and playing many games or doing puzzles.
