SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — The death toll of COVID-19 continues to rise.

Wednesday, the Berrien County Health Department reported an additional COVID-19 death, bringing its total death count to 26. The latest victim was a woman over the age of 90 with underlying health conditions.

Also Wednesday, the Berrien County Health Department reported a to date total of 425 confirmed COVID-19 cases and an additional 182 presumed positive cases. The county has 272 recoveries.

Across county lines, Cass County reported 44 confirmed cases of the virus and two related deaths. Eighteen patients in Cass County have recovered from the virus.

Van Buren County reported 94 cases, four deaths and 26 recoveries.
