Betty Kathryn Bush, 95, of Niles, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side.

Betty was born on March 4, 1925, in Marshall County, Indiana, to the late Oliver H. and Nellie S. (Stafford) Laudeman.

On Sept. 12, 1942, in Mishawaka, she married Richard Bush who passed away in 1996. She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Brian C. Gold; her brother, Willie Laudeman; and sisters, Verna English, Lois Rand and Mara Bell Pollack.

Betty is survived by her children; Gloria (John ) Gold, of Niles, and Joanne (Paul) Bata, of Niles; grandchildren, Angela (Marvin) Mattson, Jeffrey (Elaina) Bata and Kristin (Andy) Bartkowiak; great-grandchildren, Zachary Mattson, Isaac Truong, Abigail (Conner) Cervone, Blake (Jon)Thar, Alex (Maddie Beach) Bata, Andrew Bartkowiak and Joseph Bartkowiak; great-great-grandchildren; Paisley Thar and Logan Thar.

Betty had worked at Simplicity Pattern for 15 years before retiring in 1986.

Betty was a member of the Simplicity Retiree’s Club. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. Betty felt that it was important to stay connected with her family and friends. Even though she was 95, she was proficient with her iPad and could be found often on Facebook.

Graveside services will be on Monday, May 11, 2020, at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens officiated by her niece, Rev. Dr. Bonita F. Laudeman.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles.
