STEVENSVILLE  – A new face is joining the Spectrum Health team.

Spectrum Health Lakeland recently welcomed pediatrician Thomas Schomaker, DO, to the medical staff. Dr. Schomaker is seeing patients alongside a team of physicians, advanced practitioners and care managers at Southwestern Medical Clinic, Stevensville, located at 5515 Cleveland Ave. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice continues to see infants and children for essential care needs, both in-person and through virtual video visits.

Schomaker describes himself as, “a people person and kid at heart who is always on the go. I love sports, particularly basketball, and being a coach. I am most proud of the long-lasting relationships I have built with parents and families. Science and how the human body works completely fascinate me.”

Schomaker earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Board of Pediatrics and American Osteopathic Association. Over the last two decades, he has worked as a pediatrician in private practice on the east side of Michigan.
