Berrien County reports three new COVID-19 deaths since Friday

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — The COVID-19 death toll continues to rise in southwest Michigan.

The Berrien County Health Department has reported three additional COVID-19 deaths since Friday, bringing its total number of deaths to 14. As of 3 p.m. Monday, Berrien County had 217 confirmed cases of the virus, 165 presumed cases and 146 recoveries. Of the county’s cases, 31 to 50 were reported in Niles 49120 zip code, while 10 to 30 were reported in Buchanan’s 49107 zip code.

Van Buren County reported 36 cases and two deaths, Monday. As of Friday, eight patients had recovered.

Cass County reported 27 cases, two deaths and three recoveries.

Statewide, Michigan has seen 957,875 cases and 53,922 deaths to date. As of Friday, 8,342 had recovered.
