During this time of worldwide chaos, I feel it is more important than usual to highlight things that show our best qualities — qualities like honor, honesty, integrity and a commitment to doing your very best in all you do.

On Friday, April 17, I was picking up my family’s dinner from The Wounded Minnow Saloon in Dowagiac. I was privileged to witness Kyle Belew demonstrate those exact qualities. Kyle personally approached the customer before me and asked to speak with him. His order, a pizza, had not been made up to Kyle’s expectations and they were out of pizza dough. Kyle refunded the man’s money in full immediately, told him to order anything he wants off the menu (no limits or limitations) and paid for it out of his own pocket.

Thank you, Kyle. You made my day.
